Bariloche to Puerto Varas Lakes Crossing departs from Puerto Pañuelo, 25km from Bariloche. There you will board the a catamaran, which will take you on a magical hour long boat trip across the Blest arm of Lake Nahuel Huapi. During winter, when the tour includes a night’s stay in Peulla, passengers will have the opportunity to stop off at the beautiful Los Cantaros Waterfalls and take some time out to enjoy lunch at the Hosteria Blest and as you sit back and relax, take in the stunning views of the Lake Nahuel Huapi.

During the summer, on the one day tour, passengers will continue on the trip without the stop off at the waterfalls right to Puerto Alegre on the coast of Rio Frias. There the Trans Andean Crossing by boat will continue after a transfer onto Lago Frias. From there you will have the chance to catch the first glance of the spectacular Tronador Mountain. You will ten disembark in Puerto Frias, on the border with Chile, where you will have to proceed through passport control, for you to leave Argentinean territory.

The Andean Lakes crossing tour then continues with a bus trip on the Chilean side. After 29km of travelling through spectacular Andean scenery, arrive at Peulla, where you will proceed with border control to enter Chile. In Peulla, this tour service continues by catamaran, navigating the powerful waters of Lake Todos Los Santos, where you can admire the Puntiagudo a stunning chain of snow-capped volcanoes - and the impressive Osorno volcano. After skirting Lake Llanquihue in Chile, this Andean Lakes Crossings tour will arrive in Puerto Varas, where the tour will come to an end.

  • Transfer Policy: After booking, we will send you the exact address of the meeting point for the tour, as a transfer to and from your hotel is not included.
  • Season Alert: During winter (May to August) in the excursion lasts two days, with a night’s stay in Peulla (hotel NOT included in the price). Please inquire about hotel vacancies before making your reservation, as availability and price for overnight stay may vary, depending on the season. From September to April, the Trans Andean Lake Crossing only takes a day (12 hours approx.).
  • Option: The Trans Andean Crossing can be from Bariloche to Puerto Varas, or from Puerto Varas to Bariloche. Price and conditions remain the same for either itinerary.
  • Not included: Food and refreshments are not included in the package. We recommend that you bring a lunch box with non-perishable foods, to avoid complications when crossing border control.
