Itinerary Argentinian Northwest Trip Package:

Day 1: First look at Tucumán - Tafí del Valle

We'll arrive in San Miguel de Tucumán and your vehicle will be waiting for us so that you can start our independent trip. In the capital of Tucumán, we can visit the historical center.

We'll be with you at all times so that you can take advantage of this trip by car. We recommend you to start traveling towards Tafí del Valle, taking the RN38 to the town of Famillá and from there we continue along the RP307. On the way, you'll enjoy the Quebrada de Los Sosas in the middle of the Tucumán jungle.

This day you'll have one night of lodging in Tafí del Valle.

Day 2: On the way to Cafayate

We continue our day on the road. We start by the RP307, we'll cross the spectacular Abra del Infiernillo, at 3042 meters above sea level. We border the Amaicha River, which flows from the Santa María River, in the Calchaquíes Valleys.

We'll continue to Cafayate by the RN40. We'll visit the Quilmes Ruins on our way to Cafayate, land of sun and good wine. We also recommend you to visit the Quebrada de Cafayate on the RP69, which are formations in the mountains, a consequence of wind and water erosion.

Once at our destination, we recommend you to visit a wine cellar, you'll not regret it.

Overnight in Cafayate.

Day 3: We'll visit Cachi

This day we'll travel 162Km approximately, we'll have a combined route of asphalt and gravel road. Between Cafayate and Cachi incredible landscapes await us, where we'll highlight La Quebrada de las Flechas. This route will be along the RN40, which is the longest in the country.

We'll arrive at the town of Molinos, where we can take a detour to visit Finca Colomé, a ranch that produces the best wines of the north, located at 2270 meters above sea level. In Colomé you can also visit the James Turrell Museum.

To end our day, in the town of Cachi, we recommend you walk around the town and visit the museum, the church, and the cemetery. This will offer you one of the best panoramic points and be the perfect opportunity for you to take excellent pictures.

We'll spend the night in Cachi and continue our tour the next day.

Day 4: Arrival in Salta

We'll cross the Los Cordones National Park through the endless Tin Tin straight that was built by the Incas, a beautiful route near the town of Payogasta. The highest point of our trip will be Piedra del Molina, where we'll be at 3348 meters above sea level. We'll start the descent through the Cuesta del Obispo, which takes you to the Lerma Valley.

We'll be traveling through one of the most beautiful mountain roads in Argentina, arriving at our destination, the city of Salta.

This will be our first night in Salta

Day 5: Salta

We recommend a tour of the capital city of Salta. The historic center, the Cathedral Church, and also the Church of San Francisco. The High Mountain Museum has an interesting exhibition of mummies of infants from Lllullaillaco. You can also take advantage of this day to visit the summer village of San Lorenzo, just 7 minutes from downtown.

Do not miss the gastronomic offer of Salta, very emblematic of the country. We'll stay in Salta

Day 6: San Antonio de Los Cobres and Purmamarca

We'll say goodbye to Salta for a few days. This will be our longest day of travel, but it'll certainly be completely worth it. After a few kilometers, we'll see how the landscape is transforming. We'll go into the Toro Gorge.

Following the path that makes the famous Train to the clouds. We'll be able to stop in Chorrillo del Salto where we'll be able to appreciate one of the maneuvers of this colossal work. We recommend you to have lunch in San Antonio de Los Cobres and then continue our visit to the famous viaduct of La Polvorilla.

We'll continue through the northern Puna and cross the famous large salt flats. We'll pass the unique Andean landscape and begin our descent to finally arrive at Purmamarca, known as the town of the seven-colored hill.

We'll spend the night in Purmamarca.

Day 7: The 3 of the north (Purmamarca - Quebrada de humahuaca - Salta)

We recommend that you walk some of the trails that this wonderful town has to offer in the morning. Due to the location of the sun, it is the best time to take pictures. Do not miss the path of the Colorados, a short walk in the same village.

We'll start our trip in the direction of the well-known town of Humahuaca, crossing the gorge. Take advantage of this trip to visit the towns of Tilcara, Uquia. You'll return by the same RN9 towards San Salvador de Jujuy, where you can stop to visit the capital.

We'll continue towards Salta, here you'll have two route options. Continue along the RN9 through a beautiful cornice road. If you prefer to travel at night, we recommend the second option of the RN34.

This will be your last night in Salta.

Day 8: Goodbye Salta

We say goodbye to our long trip. After breakfast, you'll be met by your rented vehicle at the Salta airport, just in time to catch your flight.
