Itinerary
The field tour with penguin sighting is ideal for travelers who love animals and nature and for the whole family. In this excursion you will enjoy the best landscapes composed of the magnificent fauna and flora of this part of Argentina, having the opportunity to know a great colony of Magellanic penguins and marine elephants.
The excursion is a full day trip that begins in the morning in Puerto Madryn and reaches the colony of El Pedral, located at the mouth of Golfo Nuevo. Once there, in the extreme South, we will visit the Punta Ninfas Lighthouse, a valuable reference point for sailors entering the Golfo Nuevo and which also fulfills its task of watching over the arrival of the first whales to the gulf every year, on the cold days of May. From the cliff of the lighthouse, you will be able to observe enormous colonies of elephant seals and feel part of a magical and incredible landscape.
The excursion includes a guided walk among Magellanic penguins. In this part of the tour, you will get to know these curious animals and learn that the colony has about 5,000 specimens that chose this place to form their nests and have offspring. Meanwhile, a grill will be preparing a delicious Patagonian lamb, accompanied by homemade empanadas, salads and red wine of the house. After lunch, you will be able to enjoy the tranquility of the after-dinner, with a delicious tea or coffee accompanied by a typical Welsh cake.
