Departure from El Calafate and Border Crossing

Departure Time: The tour starts with the pickup from your hotel in Calafate around 6:30 am.

Route: We will take Route 11 towards La Esperanza.

Border Crossing: We will reach the Cancha Carrera border post approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes after departure.

 

Exploration of Torres del Paine National Park

Once we cross the border, we will delve into the stunning Torres del Paine National Park, whose name in Tehuelche means "Blues," alluding to the predominant color in the landscape.

Stops for Observation and Photography

We will make several stops, some where we will remain in the vehicle and others where we will descend to enjoy views of lakes, waterfalls, and local fauna such as foxes, guanacos, and, if we're lucky, pumas.

We will visit key locations from where we will start hikes to viewpoints that offer panoramic views of the park's main attractions.

Laguna Amarga: Our first panoramic stop will be at Laguna Amarga, from where you can see the iconic Torres del Paine.

Additional Viewpoints: We will continue in the vehicle making stops at places like Laguna de los Cisnes and Mirador Superior del Nordenskjold.

Puerto Pudeto and Salto Grande: We will arrive at Puerto Pudeto, the starting point for the hike to Salto Grande.

Hike to Cuernos del Paine: If the weather permits, we will walk along the coast of Lake Pehoe to reach the lower viewpoint of Cuernos del Paine. The hike is of low technical difficulty and will be guided by an expert authorized by CONAF Chile.

 

Final Stop and Return

  • Children policy: Children from 0 to 11 years pay with descount. To be valid the discount for minors it is necessary to present the photo of the minor's passport, once the reservation is made we will contact you to request it. If necessary, the guide/coordinator of the excursion may ask for the ID of the children.
  • Weather Alert: Due to weather conditions, this tour does not run from May to August. If you plan to travel during the months of April or September, we recommend that you consult with our Customer Service team to confirm the tour.
  • Not included: The entrance fee to Torres del Paine National Park, we recommend that you purchase your ticket online here https://www.aspticket.cl/ one day before the activity, as there will be no refund.
  • Special dates alert: This service does not operate on December 24th, 25th, 31st and January 1st.
  • Dietary restrictions: The vianda offers vegetarian, celiac and vegan options, but you must request it at the time of booking. If you wish to bring your own food, it must be packed and dry. It is forbidden to bring fresh food (vegetables, meat, bread) or liquids. Border personnel may retain them, more information here.
  • Return alert: At the end of the tour you have the option to choose to return to El Calafate or Drop off in Laguna Amarga (16hs), in Pehoe, Explora, Pudeto (13hs) and in Puerto Natales.
